Nick Huelster is an associate at Singh, Singh & Trauben, LLP, where he focuses his transactional practice in entertainment and intellectual property law. At Singh, Singh & Trauben, Mr. Huelster drafts, negotiates, and reviews various music business-related agreements including agreements related to recording and music publishing.
Prior to joining Singh, Singh & Trauben, Mr. Huelster worked for Universal Music Group. During his time at UMG, Mr. Huelster worked across a variety of business units and labels including Universal Music Latin Entertainment, Polygram Entertainment, and UMG Business & Legal Affairs. At UMG his main responsibilities included negotiating, drafting, and reviewing film distribution, recording, and other music business-related agreements. In addition, Mr. Huelster advised various business units on rights and restrictions in connection with label profit share agreements, recording agreements, artist license agreements, and distribution agreements.
During law school, Mr. Huelster worked for a boutique litigation law firm where he assisted the lead attorney on a high-profile §203 copyright termination-reversion case. Prior to law school, he began his career in the music business engineering at the Atlanta recording studio, Tree Sound Studios.
Mr. Huelster is a member of the California Bar and received his Juris Doctor degree from Chapman University’s Fowler School of Law with an Entertainment Law Emphasis. Mr. Huelster earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Commercial Music at Florida State University.
