Ivan Jacob Michultka-Calel is an associate at Singh, Singh & Trauben, LLP, where he focuses his transactional practice in entertainment, music, film/tv, fashion, and intellectual property law. At Singh, Singh & Trauben, Mr. Michultka-Calel drafts, negotiates, and reviews various music, film, television, branding, live-events, and business-related agreements including agreements related to recording and music publishing, licensing agreements, branding agreements, and music/film talent agreements.  He also advises generally on intellectual property matters mostly relating to copyright and trademarks and intellectual property disputes.

Prior to joining Singh, Singh & Trauben, Mr. Michultka-Calel founded his own law firm. During his time as a solo practitioner, Mr. Michultka-Calel worked across a variety of entertainment, business, and music matters representing various entertainers, musicians, music producers, film directors, live event brands, and fashion brands. Mr. Michultka-Calel’s main responsibilities included negotiating, drafting, and reviewing film, television, distribution, recording, and other music/entertainment business-related agreements. In addition, Mr. Michultka-Calel successfully registered several valuable trademarks in the live event, music, and fashion space and has advised and participated in large multi-million-dollar litigation disputes.

During law school, Mr. Michultka-Calel worked for a Universal Pictures in the Film/Music Department as well as volunteered for a variety of non-profit, immigration, and entertainment projects where he assisted in a variety of legal matters. Prior to law school, Mr. Michultka-Calel began his career in entertainment while working for the Santa Barbara Film Festival and working on and writing several short and feature length films while also writing, directing, and staring in his own short film “Before Midnight”.

Mr. Michultka-Calel is a member of the California Bar and received his Juris Doctor degree from Southwestern Law School with an Entertainment Law Emphasis. Mr. Michultka-Calel earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Film and Media Studies and Psychology at the University of California in Santa Barbara.
